Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March as the replacement for the mid-engined 488 GTB, the F8 Tributo features a stunning array of upgrades designed to further enhance performance and the unmistakable Ferrari driving experience. Featuring the most powerful V8 engine in a Ferrari range model created to date, the award-winning power unit sets the industry benchmark by producing an astounding 720cv at a rate of 185cv/l, punching out an improvement of 50cv over its predecessor. As the recipient of the International “Engine of the Year” award continuously for four years from 2016 to 2019 and the award for the best engine of the last 20 years, drivers are treated to the instant power on demand, thrilling engine noise and non-existent turbo lag that has become a signature of Ferrari’s V8 engines. Other features include improved handling characteristics with an upgraded Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer (FDE+). This is activated through the RACE mode on the steering wheel-mounted Manettino and is engineered to ensure that the process of reaching the limits of the vehicle are easier and more accessible to drivers of all levels.
Sculpted by the Ferrari Styling Centre in Maranello, the F8 Tributo represents an ongoing evolution towards a bold new design language that reinforces Ferrari’s key characteristics of high performance with extreme aerodynamic efficiency. In its quest to extract the full potential of its award-winning V8 power plant, its bodywork and cutting edge aerodynamics are direct beneficiaries of Ferrari’s ongoing technological achievements through their GT racing programs, starting from a 15% increase in downforce from the S-duct in its front fascia, derived from the special series 488 Pista. Other engineering improvements include rearward angled front radiators, repositioned engine air intakes on either side of the rear spoiler and improved cooling to the brakes, as well as a return to the classic twin tail-light configuration and a special lexan rear engine cover, featuring louvres in homage to the legendary F40. Combined, these enhancements result in an overall 40kg weight reduction and a 10% increase in aerodynamic efficiency compared to its predecessor, offering the driver an unparalleled driving experience in terms of vehicle dynamics and response.
To ensure that the evolution does not stop at the exterior styling and performance aspects of the car, the driver-oriented cabin features a completely new generation dash, door panels and tunnel, featuring circular air vents, an updated HMI (Human Machine Interface) and an all-new reduced diameter steering wheel configuration for enhanced driver response and agility.
The F8 Tributo will be highlighted inside a unique showcase alongside other current Ferrari range models with displays featuring the Tailor Made customisation programme and Ferrari Genuine After Market Accessories for Hong Kong's first ever Ferrari Range Presentation. This will run exclusively from June 7-9 (Friday to Sunday) in one of Hong Kong’s leading retail destinations - the Elements property in Kowloon West. Encompassing luxury flagship stores, restaurants, hotels and residences, visitors will be invited to discover and learn more about Maranello’s latest expression of the world famous Ferrari mid-rear-engined configuration.
